To give you an insight into what to expect from this type of travel we asked some Travel Bloggers that have been there, done that to let us all in on their story and why they loved, or hated, travelling on a road trip.

Get to know our travellers?

Kerri is the owner and writer of Beer and Croissants. She’s one half of a couple who have travelled the world together since the late 90’s. Every travel experience involves food and she never misses an opportunity to sample the local beverages either!  Sometimes five star but never budget, Kerri writes for those travellers who are financially independent, flexible, and love travelling to their own tune.

Total freedom and independence is why I love seeing the world by motorhome.  Having travelled extensively through New Zealand and Europe in large vehicles, I could easily say we’ve become very experienced at travelling this way, and we absolutely love it.

Travelling in a motorhome allows you to just go where the road takes you.  Whilst some people plan their trips very carefully, for us we start and end with a flight and the rest in between we make up as we go along.  If we like a city we might hang around a few days more.  Conversely, if a place isn’t for us, we simply move on, looking for the next adventure.

Our motorhome is our transport, our accommodation and quite often our restaurant, as we love to buy and cook foods from the local markets.  Travelling this way, especially throughout Europe is very easy.  The people are friendly towards motorhomers and there are plenty of overnight options when it’s time to pull up.

When in Europe, we wild camp, finding beautiful spots alongside lakes and rivers.  Motorhome travel is not as hard as many people think and it offers another different perspective to travelling.

    • They do make it sound pretty appealing Jeanette. I think if I finally give it a try it would have to be on a USA road trip.
